All three NBA playoff games on Wednesday were postponed amid protests following the shooting of Jacob Blake in the United States. The decision was taken after the Bucks made the call to boycott Game 5 of their first-round playoff series against the Magic. Bucks owners Marc Lasry, Wes Edens and Jamie Dinan supported the players, although acknowledged they were unaware of the plans. “We fully support our players and the decision they made,” a statement from the owners read....

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers traded up select the former Florida State kicker in the second round of the April’s NFL Draft. Three Bucs kickers struggled last year to make just 29 of 40 kicks and missed three extra points. Aguayo was selected to be a long-term solution at the position, but the rookie is not exactly building confidence in Tampa. Payton Gendron, now 19, killed 10 people and wounded three more with a semiautomatic rifle at the Tops supermarket in Buffalo, New York, in May, when the store was filled with shoppers. Gendron appeared at Erie County Court on Monday for a hearing that was supposed to take place last week but was postponed by a snowstorm. He pleaded guilty to all the charges in the grand jury indictment, according to the Associated Press (AP)....

The 65-year-old victim of the attack—which took place in front of 360 West 43rd Street in Manhattan—was punched and then kicked several times after she fell to the ground, authorities have said. Video of the violent encounter has been circulated widely online, showing the tall man approaching the much smaller woman before he punches her and proceeds to stomp on her while she lays on the ground. The woman has been hospitalized and her injuries are reportedly serious....

Burmese pythons were brought to Florida in the 1980s and 1990s as exotic pets. It is thought they gained a foothold in the Everglades after either escaping or being set free by their owners. Their spread is also thought to have been facilitated by Hurricane Andrew in 1992—the storm saw a Burmese python breeding facility destroyed, releasing hundreds of individuals into the wild. There are now thought to be hundreds of thousands of Burmese pythons in the Everglades, and state officials have been working to control their population for decades....
