Ian pummeled Florida on Wednesday when it arrived as a Category 4 hurricane and left more than 2.5 million people across the state without power before being downgraded to tropical storm by Thursday morning. The forecast for Miami, which will host the awards at Watsco Center, calls for winds and rain, but the red carpet pre-show is still reportedly happening.

Bad Bunny leads with the most nominations for the night with 23 nods across 13 categories. He’s followed by Karol G, who has 15 nominations in 11 categories, which is a record number of nominations for a female artist at the awards.

More than a dozen artists are scheduled to perform, including Calibre 50, Chayanne, Elvis Crespo, Farruko, Grupo Firme, Manuel Turizo, Nicky Jam, Ozuna and Pepe Aguilar, among others.

Christina Aguilera will perform her hit “La Reina,” and she will also be honored with the Billboard Spirit of Hope Award. Puerto Rican icon José Feliciano, perhaps best known for his beloved Christmas classic “Feliz Navidad,” will receive the first-ever Billboard Legend Award.

The 2022 Billboard Latin Music Awards will start airing live Thursday on Telemundo beginning at 7 p.m. ET for the red carpet, followed by the official show at 8 p.m. For viewers who don’t have Telemundo, there are some other options for how to catch the ceremony.

The show will also be broadcast on the cable channel Universo, as well as on the Telemundo App. If those options aren’t available to viewers, they can also catch the ceremony on Friday via on-demand on Peacock.

Anyone who does tune in will see other stars receive special awards in addition to Feliciano and Aguilera. Chayanne will be recognized with the Billboard Icon Award, while Nicky Jam will be the recipient of the Billboard Hall of Fame Award.

Raphael, meanwhile, will be honored with the Billboard Lifetime Achievement Award. The Spanish legend will also sing a medley of his hits with special guests Ángela Aguilar, CNCO, Alejandra Guzmán and Pablo López.

Actors Jaime Camil (Jane the Virgin) and Kate del Castillo (La Reina del Sur) will serve as the show’s official hosts.

Billboard has previously announced that proceeds from its Latin Week will be used to help victims of Hurricane Fiona in parts of the Caribbean like Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. Donations can also be made at RedCross.org/Billboard.
