Billy Donovan S Florida Buyout Is Helping Pay His Former Assistants

Donovan had to pay back $500,000 to Florida, which in part “compensates (University Athletic) association for its costs and expenses associated with Coach’s termination of the agreement, including, without limitation, those associated with terminating assistant coaches without cause,” according to his contract terms.

Anthony Grant is going from Florida to Oklahoma City with Donovan, while Rashon Burno is going to Nebraska and John Pelphrey is yet to find a new gig.

Bruno and Pelphrey were given 30 days pay beyond their termination dates. Bruno was paid a prorated $11,500 of a $140,000 deal and Pelphrey was paid a prorated amount of $32,500 of his $390,000 annual contract, according to GatorSports.com.
