Bosch pleaded guilty in October after he admitted to suppling more than a dozen pro ballplayers with steroids, human growth hormone and other performance-enhancing drugs from a clinic in Coral Gables, Fla. His no. 1 client was Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez, who was paying Bosch roughly $12,000 a month for pre-filled HGH syringes among other drugs.
A-Rod was suspended for the entire 2014 season following MLB’s investigation of Biogenesis. He admitted in November that six years ago he used performance-enhancing substances while with Texas from 2001-03, and has denied usage since.
Other notable Bosch clients, the Mariners’ Nelson Cruz and the Cardinals’ Jhonny Peralta, received 50-game suspensions in 2013.
Bosch had hoped his cooperation with the investigation would bring a lighter sentence.
Bosch’s associates, Yuri Sucart (Rodriguez’s cousin) and ex-University of Miami pitching coach Lazaro Collazo are scheduled to go to trial in April.
