Blue Jays Lhp Francisco Liriano Expected Back For Alcs Game 2

Liriano’s bullpen session Thursday went well, according to the Jays.

He was placed on the seven-day disabled list after being struck in the back of the head by Ranger Carlos Gomez’s line drive that was clocked at 102 mph off the bat, so the earliest he can be activated is Saturday.

That means the Blue Jays will play Game 1 against the Indians with 24 players, one shy of the roster limit.

Liriano appeared in 10 games this season for Toronto after starting the year with the Pirates. For the season, he was 8-13 with a 4.59 ERA, but he is 2-2 with a 2.92 ERA for the Jays.
