The WSJ cites an account from a stadium security guard who said the staff frisked the attacker and found the vest as he or she tried to enter the stadium 15 minutes into the match. The attacker had a ticket to the exhibition match between the French and German national teams.

French police suspect the attacker aimed to detonate the explosives in the crowd to “provoke a deadly stampede” inside the 80,000-seat stadium, the report says. More than 120 people were killed in bombings and other attacks across Paris on Friday.
France is set to host Euro 2016 beginning in June — the first major soccer tournament the country has hosted since the 1998 World Cup. It will be played at 10 venues across France over 30 days.
