Boris Diaw Could Receive 500 000 From Spurs To Stay In Shape

The Spurs have not forgotten about the rough days Diaw experienced in Charlotte, even though he revamped his career and was a major part of their 2014 NBA Finals win. The proof is in Diaw’s contract, which offers incentives for the forward to keep his weight down, as ESPN.com’s Amin Elhassan explained (via EyeOnBasketball):

This could come off as a joke but the $500,000 is pretty series, even for a millionaire like Diaw. Spurs coach Gregg Popovich was allowed to skip the first half of training camp, and he joked that Diaw might not be in the best shape when he met with the team in Europe.
