U.S. Army arrival: The week after the peace treaty is signed on Dec. 14, the first wave of 5,000 troops will arrive by air at the four Tuzla airfields. The remaining troops and heavy equipment will travel by train into Hungary and from there by highway into Tuzla.

U.S. troop deployment: Ultimately, about half of the 20,000 troops will be stationed in the Tuzla valley while the other half are dispersed throughout the sector. All troops will live in tents with cots, heaters and basic flooring.

Tensions in Sarajevo: These five suburbs of Sarajevo will be handed back to the Croat-Muslim federation. The Serbs who live there staged angry protests last week and may not leave quietly.
