“I gotta move on,” Brad Ausmus said Wednesday morning, hours after his debut tweet. “I can’t get stuck in the Stone Age.”
Don’t let the manager-speak above fool you. It seems the Dartmouth-educated former catcher has big plans for his foray into social media.
“I’ll probably have a Twitter rant sometime, or maybe get in a Twitter feud with like, Taylor Swift,” he told reporters. “Break the Internet eventually, I’m sure.”
Ausmus might be running about 53.2 million Twitter followers behind Swift — give him time, people — but it’s nice to see that kind of confidence right out of the gate.
And whatever emanates from the account will be authentic: Ausmus said he plans to write his own tweets. He also said he doesn’t plan on looking at his mentions.
