More than just stats will be on the line when the New Orleans Saints travel to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The teams each have two losses on the season, and Brady’s Buccaneers (6-2) are a half game ahead of the Brees-led Saints (5-2). Tonight’s winner will be in sole possession of first place in the NFC South division.

The Saints won the season opener at home against the Bucs, 34-23. A win by the Saints tonight would not just give the Saints the top spot in the division, but a season sweep, which would be important if the teams end the regular season tied.

The Bucs need a win to split the series, and then would need to outpace the Saints to the end of regular season.

Brees signed a two-year, $50 million extension with New Orleans this past offseason. He’s also reportedly agreed to join the NBC booth alongside Mike Tirico after the 2021 season to replace Al Michaels and Chris Collinsworth.

Brees has incredible career stats, and so does Brady, who joined the Buccaneers in the offseason after spending 20 years with the New England Patriots. Having the same two quarterbacks in the same division gives people the chance to see them face each other twice in one season—barring injuries. The two could possibly face each other again in the playoffs, if the scenarios work out just right.

Both quarterbacks are from the Big Ten Conference, as Brady played at Michigan and Brees played at Purdue. Brady entered the league in 2000, and he guided the New England Patriots to nine Super Bowls, winning six of them. Brees entered the league in 2001 with the San Diego Chargers. He later signed with New Orleans, and he guided the Saints to one Super Bowl, which was a win over Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts.
