That teammate was Brandon Marshall, who came to New York a season after Decker. The two paired up to be one of the better receiving duos in the league in 2015, but Marshall was skeptical at first.

“He told me, ‘I honestly thought you were a product of Peyton (Manning). Like I didn’t believe you were good,’” Decker told Newsday in a feature about the pair’s friendship.

Marshall didn’t deny it.

“I did,” he said. “(I used to think) ‘Man, it’s not fair, they have Peyton."

He doesn’t doubt the ability any longer.

“He’s probably one of the better route runners in our league,” Marshall said. “And I don’t think people really understand it — I didn’t even really … And then, probably during the Indy game (in Week 2), I was like, ‘Wow, this dude is pretty good.'”
