The Buckeyes open spring practice March 4 and play their spring game April 12.

Miller, who had outpatient surgery on his right shoulder Friday, was injured in the Orange Bowl (Clemson beat the Buckeyes, 40-35) but played through the injury, calling the pain he endured a 9.5 on a scale of 10, according to Cleveland.com.

Last season, Kenny Guiton stepped in when Miller suffered a minor knee injury early in the season and the Buckeyes didn’t skip a beat. But Guiton graduated and Ohio State is thin behind Miller.

Sophomore Cardale Jones, redshirt freshman J.T. Barrett and freshman Stephen Collier will compete in spring practice.
