Aaron Rodgers startled many with his transparent postgame comments Sunday after the 31-26 NFC championship game loss to the Buccaneers, saying that his future in a Green Bay uniform is “uncertain.”

Well, who better to analyze those comments than former Packer QB — and multiple-time retiree — Brett Favre? Speaking on SiriusXM NFL Radio, Favre offered a bit of insight into what Rodgers might be thinking, and what the Packers should do (via ProFootballTalk):

There’s a very, very slim chance that Rodgers ends up on another team to start the 2021 NFL season, but it is worth noting that the Packers selected quarterback Jordan Love with their first-round pick in the 2021 draft, meaning Green Bay is looking toward the future right now — regardless of how well Rodgers is playing. 

Rodgers, 37, is under contract with the Packers for three more seasons, with ‘22 and ‘23 seasonable cap hits should he be released (very unlikely). But, the future is clearly starting to creep into Rodgers’ mind, which could change things over the next season.
