The Brewers signed the right-handed pitcher to a new minor league deal on Tuesday, just two days after releasing him.

Why the quick change of heart? The Brewers avoided paying a $100,000 veteran retention bonus by cutting him on Monday.

The 29-year-old is a two-time All-Star spent last season with the Dodgers after five years with the Indians. He posted a 4.27 ERA in 49 games.
