The second baseman on Tuesday signed a new four-year contract with the team that covers all of his arbitration-eligible seasons. The deal is worth $20 million, according to USA Today and other reports.
Dozier, who turns 28 in May, was the Twins’ eighth-round pick in the 2009 draft. He reached the majors in 2012 and has settled in as Minnesota’s everyday second baseman the last two seasons.
He hit .242/.345/.416 last season while striking out 129 times, but had an impressive combination of 23 home runs and 21 stolen bases.
