The pop star shared a clip of the blue-eyed Australian shepherd on Instagram, describing her joy at the newest member of her family.
“Geez …. can you have two loves of your lives because he comes in second !!!! I’m introducing the new edition to my family … his name is Sawyer and he’s a white Australian shepherd with blue eyes !!!!!” the 40-year-old wrote.
The “Toxic” singer, who was liberated from her strict court-appointed conservatorship last year, recently went on vacation with her fiancé Sam Asghari to the Hawaiian island of Maui.
The star revealed that she had found Sawyer “in Maui like a dream and took him home with me immediately.”
She continued in the caption: “It’s funny … he doesn’t talk back but it’s like he understands what I’m saying !!!! I can talk to him for 30 min about potty training and rewarding him when he goes potty on the pad !!!! I think he understands me especially with those eyes … he makes my heart melt … he needs me and I like that !!!!”
Spears also told her 39.6 million Instagram followers that she has a new cat she plans to introduce to them at a later date.
“My cat is French and very peculiar … she looks at food as if she is 30 for two min before she eats it … she’s extremely smart and she looks like a miniature cheetah !!!!” she wrote.
“Me and security couldn’t find her for 2 hours and then when we did she would disappear again !!!! Anyways I have a house FULL of small animals and I like it besides the potty training.”
Last week, Spears sparked a frenzy of speculation about new music when she shared “a tease of what’s to come” on Instagram.
The singer posted a video of her dancing in a studio to her track “Get Naked (I Got a Plan)” from the 2007 album Blackout.
Her caption read: “This is a tease 😈 of what’s to come !!!! My song ‘Get Naked’ 🎧 !!! Hope you guys are having a great day !!!!! Pss No hair and make up 💄 !!! Just PLAYING around folks !!!!”
The post on February 9 received more than 2.3 million likes and many thousands of comments as fans encouraged her to release new songs.
Spears’ court-appointed guardianship was officially dissolved in November after more than 13 years, with her father Jamie Spears no longer in control of her personal and financial affairs.
