Spears said she felt “embarrassed” about posting too much on Instagram in the past week, but her latest video shows Asghari back in the house. Her husband, 28, even commented on the clip to make fun of the rumors that suggested something was wrong.
In August, Britney slammed plans to make a biopic about her life, writing on Instagram, “dude I’m not dead!!! Although it’s pretty f****** clear they preferred me dead.”
The singer, 40, has seemingly taken back control of her own social-media accounts after exiting the conservatorship her dad had placed her under for 13 years.
Replying to a number of her posts on Instagram, fans have expressed concern for Britney’s safety after looking out for a number of clues in her videos and captions.
“If you’re alive, why won’t you share a LIVE video of yourself saying that? People are seriously worried,” one fan wrote on one post, receiving hundreds of likes. “That is definitely not her writing this,” another social-media user commented.
Fans have written about how Spears’ account is posting the same videos over and over, and also sharing footage of her dancing in her old house, with no explanation.
“She’s so out of touch. Where is her husband and why hasn’t she commented on Aaron’s passing?” someone commented on Instagram. There’s a popular theory among Spears’ fans that she’s not in control of her own social-media account again.
Finally, after weeks of requests from fans, Britney shared a video of her husband and explained how he had returned home.
“Here’s my husband !!! He’s been gone working !!! Supposed to be a week, but ended up being a whole month … it was really hard … he’s home now acting up … I know he’s pretty hot,” Spears wrote as she shared a video of Asghari working out using a punching bag.
“That doesn’t look like Sam. Where Sam?,” Asghari wrote himself, using his verified Instagram account. “You should breakup with him and come with me,” he added. On his own Instagram Stories, Asghari said he had been in Baltimore, Maryland, for 35 days, working on a new project.
In Spears’ new video of her husband, she can be heard cheering him on. Some in the comment section suggested it wasn’t her voice, but others were quick to shut down the “conspiracy.” “That voice sounds nothing like Britney…” one person commented.
“Yes it’s her voice, yes it’s her husband, yes it’s her!! Why do people see conspiracy everywhere now???!? Let this woman live her life,” a fan wrote.
Another added, “Y’all it’s literally Britney’s voice! If you all want to keep saying ’that’s not Britney’ and ‘it’s a different person’ do it elsewhere, maybe in a speculation group, but not here.”
Newsweek has reached out to Spears for further comment.
