The ABC show, which started in 2014, features previous The Bachelor and The Bachelorette contestants searching for love once again, though this time they travel to a tropical destination to do.
Singletons like Logan Palmer, Michael Allio and Danielle Maltby featured on 2022’s cast, but it was Tyler Norris, from Gabby Windey and Rachel Recchia’s season of The Bachelorette, with whom Galvin made a romantic connection.
The couple seemed one of the strongest of the season after connecting almost immediately when the show, filmed earlier in 2022, began. However, during the reunion, aired on Tuesday (November 22), it was revealed that they have now split.
At the reunion, hosted by Jesse Palmer, Norris said that, once the show had wrapped, Galvin went on vacation to Italy, where she broke up with him over FaceTime.
“She just felt like we were two different people living two different lives, and she just couldn’t do it anymore,” Norris said, adding that the split happened the very same day that his The Bachelorette exit aired.
Galvin joined Palmer and Norris on stage during the reunion but disagreed with Norris’ telling of the story, saying that she asked for a break, not a breakup, and that he continued to contact her when she had requested space.
The 25-year-old elaborated on their different versions of events on Twitter, telling her followers that she was surprised by Norris’ claims. According to Galvin, they had ended things mutually.
Galvin added that she felt like she came off “cold hearted” on the reunion but said that this was due to her shock over what Norris was saying.
“We ended on mutual terms. This came out of no where. #bachelorinparadiseabc,” she tweeted to her near-3,000 Twitter followers as the Bachelor in Paradise reunion aired.
“Unfortunately they can’t show the entirety of the reunion. I know that I came off “cold hearted” but I was just feeling frustrated for being blindsided. #BachelorInParadise,” Galvin added.
Galvin later retweeted a viewer who suggested the interview seemed like it had been “highly edited” and that there was “more to the story than was shown.”
Norris has not spoken about the reunion, or Galvin’s social-media messages, on his own Instagram page. He has shown support for his co-star Johnny DePhillipo after their heart-to-heart reunion, writing: “Always got your back brotha,” on his story after the finale aired.
Newsweek has contacted representatives for Bachelor in Paradise and Galvin for comment.
Meanwhile, the next show in the ABC Bachelor universe is the upcoming season of the franchise’s original series, hosted once again by the show’s previous star Palmer.
As is tradition in the world of The Bachelor, the singleton has been chosen from the cast of the last season of The Bachelorette, which focused upon Windey and Recchia.
Zach Shallcross—who appeared on the last season of The Bachelorette as a love interest for Recchia—was confirmed as the next star of The Bachelor during The Bachelorette’s season finale.
Shallcross, 26, is a tech executive from Anaheim Hills, California, though he splits his time between Texas and Orange County. His uncle is Family Guy star Patrick Warburton.
The new season of The Bachelor will premiere on January 23, 2023, kicking off with a two-hour episode, airing from 8 to 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
