In short, Collins’ final days as a Patriot weren’t pretty, so there’s a chance he holds a bit of a grudge against the franchise. And that’s why his Instagram post on Monday could be seen as a shot at the team that sent him packing.
The words in the photo read: “I may not be where I need to be, but thank God I’m not where I used to be.”
There’s a chance Collins just posted this photo in reference to something else, but the evidence points to a shot at the Patriots.

In the caption, he tags another former Patriot player (and an old teammate of his), Anthony Johnson. The caption says “repost,” but Johnson’s account is private so we can’t see what it’s referring to. But Johnson appreciated Collins’ support on Twitter.
If this post is a shot at the Patriots, then it could also be seen as a shot at the Browns because he says this isn’t where he needs to be. That theory will be put to the test in the offseason when he becomes a free agent.
