The Boston Blades forward needed major surgery to repair the injury, and the Bruins stepped up to provide her the financial support needed to cover the surgery and rehab.

Prior to the Bruins’ game against the Canucks on Thursday, the team honored Laing and played a touching tribute on the video board that included a personal message from the former Princeton standout.

The NHL has done a tremendous job in providing support and recognition for the first-year National Women’s Hockey League, and the handling of Laing’s injury has brought the hockey community closer than ever.
