Harper was on first base with two outs when Jayson Werth grounded to shortstop Miguel Rojas, who threw to first for the final out of the inning. But as Harper went into second he collided with Miami second baseman Derek Dietrich, who was standing on the bag even though no throw was coming. You can watch the video here.

Harper rolled onto his back after the collision and eventually walked off after a discussion with manager Matt Williams and trainer Lee Kuntz.
When the Nationals’ defense came out for the bottom of the first inning, Werth took Harper’s usual spot in right field and Matt den Dekker entered the game as the left fielder.
