The Twins’ top minor league prospect was taken off the field in an ambulance after colliding in the outfield with Double-A New Britain teammate Mike Kvasnicka.

Twins general manager Terry Ryan, who was at the game, told the (Minneapolis) Star Tribune’s Mike Berardino that Buxton suffered a concussion.

Yahoo! Sports’ Jeff Passan has more on Buxton’s condition:

The game was delayed more than 30 minutes while medical personnel attended to Buxton.

The 20-year-old Buxton was playing his first game since being promoted to Double-A. He was limited to 30 games at Single-A Fort Myers because of a wrist injury he suffered in spring training.
