The Blue Jays have quashed discussions between the teams that would have allowed Duquette, Baltimore’s general manager, to become president and CEO in Toronto, according to Sportsnet Canada. The Orioles’ asking price of three top prospects in return for Duquette, whose contract runs through 2018, was a non-starter for the Blue Jays. Instead, they preferred to adhere to precedent, similar to when the Cubs sent pitcher Chris Carpenter to the Red Sox in exchange for general manager Theo Epstein in 2011....

Earlier this week, the big cat somehow managed to strand itself atop of a utility pole in the Topaz Road neighborhood of El Paso, where it remained for two days, according to KFOX14. The passenger went overboard from the deck of the Oasis of the Seas ship, at around 7.40 p.m. local time on Wednesday, CBS News reporter David Begnaud wrote on Twitter. Coast Guard spokesman Ricardo Castrodad told The Associated Press that the ship was in San Juan Bay when the passenger went overboard.
