However, the tides changed recently when Britney Spears was granted the right to new counsel. She chose celebrity lawyer Mathew Rosengart, who has been pushing to make some big changes. One of the most recent moves has been to speed up a hearing scheduled for September, in the hope that changes to the conservatorship may be made earlier, if the court decides to grant their requests. In a filing made in July, Rosengart asked the court to appoint Jason Rubin as the conservator of the estate of Britney Spears, as well as the successor of this role....

The WNBA star this week lost her appeal in a Moscow court after being arrested for drug smuggling after being found with cannabis oil when entering Russia in February. The Phoenix Mercury player had traveled to the country to compete in the professional league there during the WNBA off season and said she used the cannabis oil to treat pain from sports injuries. The Moscow Central Court upheld her original sentence of nine years and she will serve her time in a penal colony....

Drew Lock, a quarterback out of Missouri, is seeking a “quarterback premium,” according to a report from 9News.com, which cited unidentified league sources. But, history isn’t in Lock’s favor. The report noted quarterbacks taken in both the first and third rounds commonly get the premium, but since 2014, no second-round signal caller has received it. Instead, the report notes Denver has offered Lock the same workout bonus add ons as left guard Dalton Risner, who was the 41st pick by the team, taken one slot ahead of Lock....

Fox underwent heart valve replacement surgery on Nov. 4. His plan was to delay the surgery until after the season, but after becoming dizzy and lightheaded during a round of golf, he moved forward with the procedure. Fox stuck to the four-week recovery period, but admitted he was in contact with his team and coaches. “I feel as healthy as I’ve ever felt in the last 20 years,” Fox told ESPN....

Coach Gary Kubiak informed his team Wednesday that Osweiler will remain the starter while Peyton Manning continues to focus on rehabbing his torn plantar fascia. "With this procedure, we both fixed the broken bone (fifth metatarsal) in Brook's right foot and repositioned another bone, so that his sole of his foot will bear weight more evenly than before," Nets medical director Dr. Riley Williams III said in a statement....

The Steelers took a quick 7-0 lead with 12:44 left in the first quarter against the Browns on Sunday after a three-and-out and a blocked punt on their first possession of the 2017 season. Pittsburgh’s Tyler Matakevich blocked the punt, and Anthony Chickillo recovered it in the end zone for the touchdown. Cleveland was forced to punt after a three-and-out in which DeShone Kizer faced a third-and-23 just two plays into his first start....

First, Cleveland landed wide receiver Amari Cooper in a trade of picks with the Cowboys. Then, they made the biggest splash, trading a bevy of picks for Deshaun Watson, turning over the reins to the former Texans’ signal-caller instead of Baker Mayfield.
