Bo Horvat, Vancouver’s No. 1 center and the biggest reason for its early-season success, will miss multiple weeks with a fracture in his right foot, Green announced. Horvat was injured Tuesday in a 3-0 win over the Hurricanes when his right leg jammed awkwardly against the end boards on a check from Carolina defenseman Noah Hanifin. He didn’t return to that game, but Green had downplayed the injury as “small” afterward....

At about 1 p.m. on Saturday, homeowners watched as the six-foot snake wrapped itself around the cat after appearing to access a first-floor balcony, La Provence reported. Firefighters were called to the scene and the snake was captured without further incident. The drama happened at a housing building in Marseille. The boa snake was taken into the care of the Societe Protectrice des Animaux (SPA). One tenant, identified only as Marine, told local radio network France Bleu the snake crushed the kitten....

Physician David Smock, who had worked as a doctor at Agape Boarding School, was arrested by Arkansas police on Tuesday on eight felony charges involving various child sex crimes. “He did not turn himself in,” U.S. Marshal Mike Stokes told The Kansas City Star on Tuesday. “He was captured. There was a sighting in that town, and deputy marshals and local law enforcement went to that area and took him into custody....

Full House star Saget, 65, was found dead in his Orlando hotel room on January 9, after performing at a show in Jacksonville. The comedian’s family last month stated that he passed away after he “accidentally hit the back of his head on something, thought nothing of it, and went to sleep.” While it was confirmed that his passing was accidental and not linked to any illicit drug use, an incident report has shed further light on the fatal event, in the same week that Saget’s family successfully blocked the release of some records pertaining to his death....

The body was discovered by a passerby near the shoreline off the Neuse River Trail, east of the city, around 11 a.m. Deputies from the Wake County Sheriff’s Office arrived on the scene at the 5400 block of Allen Drive and are investigating the case as a homicide. “It’s not every day, it’s not every morning, that you find what could be a person’s body in a suitcase, in a river,” Wake County Sheriff Gerald Baker told reporters on Monday afternoon....

On Monday, the Jamestown Police Department shared a video captured by officer Mark Conklin’s bodycam when he responded to a fire on William Street. Officials say he was handling a call for service on Baker Street when he was alerted of a possible house fire. When Conklin arrived at the scene, he found a house engulfed in flames with children and one adult trapped in the upstairs of the residence....
